Cold in his chest?
Sorry I keep posting about DS's cold, but it's over 3 wks now and it's going into his chest. The Dr. said on thurs that it WAS just a cold (tested him for RSV - it was neg.) and would run it's course but if not better in a week to come back. This is after 2 ear infectiosn and 2 courses of antibiotics (his ears are now clear) I am really nervous that I can hear and feel it in his chest/back when he breathes. Am I being a paranoid 1st time mom???

Re: Cold in his chest?
No you are being a good concerned mom! My son is going on week 3 of his cold now too. It seems mostly in his throat and nasal cavity, we went to the Dr on Thurs and it was in his chest but wasn't RSV (or so they said, I'm starting to think I may get a new pedi but that's a whole other post) but the nebulizer helped. I would ask for a nebulizer and Rx for it - there's abuterol but the nurse said that cna sometimes lead to the baby being a bit hyper, they gave me an Rx for something else that starts with an S...sorry it's in his room and he's sleeping so I don't want to go and wake him to find out. And I rub Baby Vicks (make sure it's Baby Vicks not regular Vicks) on his chest and back in the AM and PM and I also bring him into the bathroom and run the hot water for steam - that seems to work pretty well. He's now coughing it all up - threw up a few times the past few days but it was mostly mucus that he coughs up and swallows. Fun. I hope your little one gets better soon!
