Cold Spring Hill
What can you tell me about this town? Good, bad? Huntington schools, and if so, which ones? Just researching the area because it seems like there are a few houses in our price range, but we know nothing about it. I work PT in Woodbury too, so it would be close...

Re: Cold Spring Hill
Depending on where the house is, it is either in Cold Spring Harbor school district (which is very good) or South Huntington School district.
Nice area.

I didn't think any of the homes were in CSH SD. That's why the homes are so reasonable in price...they're all S. Hunt. SD. (They're also small lots or unuseable b/c so many of them are on a hill.)
It was one of the first places we started looking because we were living in Woodbury at the time. We almost bought an old victorian, but eventually decided against it for a number of reasons.

Re: Cold Spring Hill
There is a small section of Cold Spring Harbor (right near Oheka castle) that is either South Huntington OR Cold Spring Harbor.

Re: Cold Spring Hill
All the homes I see on MLSLI are in S. Huntington SD. While I would love CSH SD, the houses are considerably a little more expensive We are more than likely sending our kids to private/parochial schools no matter where we live, but I wonder about the resale of the house in the long run. Just doing some research, not looking at homes just yet.
Anyone else??

Re: Cold Spring Hill
there is NO section of cold spring harbor near oheka castle. that is cold spring hill. many people confuse the two towns, but they are completely unrelated. csh school district consists of csh, laurel hollow, lloyd harbor, and lloyd neck. i grew up there, so i'm very familiar w/ the town. cold spring hill is hunt schools. the schools are not great, but they may be getting better. if it's just resale you are concerned with, maybe they will be better by the time you go to sell. although a lot of people buy in hunt based on the town, so don't worry too much about the schools, you shouldn't have a problem selling.

Re: Cold Spring Hill
Thanks Lauren! I know they are totally different, I wish I could afford CSHarbor, but CSHill is more affordable to us. Right now, I am north of 25A, just west of Laurel Hallow and CSHarbor. Such a hard decision on where to buy next!!
