What about a wedge, or something with a chunkier heel - I always find those to be more comfortable than a "regular" high heel

comfortable high heels
I wear high heels every day to work and the shoes I find most comfortable are platforms. My heel height is 4 inches but there is also a 1/2 inch platform as well.

Re: comfortable high heels
comfortable and high heels is an oxymoron. At least for me. But I don't wear flats and there are just certain outfits where flats will NOT do, like you said, so I suffer and destroy my feet for the sake of vanity.
Your best bet for comfort would probably a wedge. Doesn't have to be a frumpy wedge- something higher would be ok

Re: comfortable high heels
High heels and comfort do not mix at all. I just wear flats all the time. I have flat feet and other foot problems and I really cannot wear heels.
If I absolutely have to wear heels, I just do a small black heel. I will use Compeed (like a chapstick for the foot) for blisters and get those inserts for the balls of my feet.

Same here. Though the only pair of shoes I've ever found to be totally comfortable are Jessica Simpson Calie pumps... which come in every color under the sun. I used to wear these shoes to salsa class. I need a new pair!
The black patent are also an Amazon Prime Day Deal!

I like Nine West. I’m a teacher on my feet all day and wear 3-4 inch heels every day.

Re: comfortable high heels
It truly depends on your feet. I have tried all the ones suggested here as comfortable and they ALL killed me. I just suffer for vanity's sake.

Re: comfortable high heels
Believe or not, Payless sells a comfortable pair of heels. Style is Comfort Plus - Karmen Pump. The price is ridiculously reasonable.

ITA!!! Was going to suggest this as I have many times before, but I figured everybody was sick of me recommending them and I think I'm the only one who wears them I'm in heels everyday and I have these in 7 colors.

I wanted these to work for me so badly, and I did try them, but alas, not comfortable for me. I think it's just my feet, I'm not cut out for high heels.
