Coming off BC questions...

I am not officially TTC just yet, but I was hoping you ladies could help me out...

I came of BC about a month ago and was on it for 4 years. I know that I might not get my cycle right away, but what other side effects did you experience? I feel all bloated and feel like I have gained weight too! My face is breaking out and the last two nights i woke up from night sweats! Ugh hormones!

How long after coming off BC did you start TTC? Also, do you think that being on BC effects TTC (like makes it more difficult, etc?)

Hi! I was on BC for almost 11 years.
My first cycle off was regular, 28 days. The second cycle was only 23 days. I didn't gain too much weight, maybe 3lbs. My face did break out. It was really embarrassing having acne in my 30's. It's like reliving high school all over again. Another thing I noticed is that my hair and skin went from dry to oily. Although it might have something to do with the prenatals vitamins.

hi,
i was on bc for over 10 years.
i stopped taking bc 3 months before ttc.

i also gained weight and my acne is horrible! i look like i'm going through puberty again! i had to stop taking all my acne meds so that didn't help either...

it takes a while for your body to regulate itself off the hormones.

my cycle was pretty regular immediately, but all of a sudden my past 2 cycles have been different, so who knows!

also, you might have "brown stuff" a few days b4 and after AF. that's normal- don't be worried!

Thanks for all the advice! I am a few days late already so we will see when my body regulates itself again. I had really bad irregular periods before the pill which is why I went on it too.

And come to think of it, my hair and skin have been more oily! Will the acne and oil ever go away? Ugh!

I was on BCP for nearly 10 years and started TTC right away. My doc says BCPs do not affect your ability to TTC.

I didn't notice many side effects, except I was very hungry my first month off. I am also spotting now before getting AF, which I never did before. My AFs also seem shorter for some reason.

My first two cycles were pretty normal - 30 and 32 days. This cycle though it was 43 days!
