Commack/Smithtown daycare recommendations
Looking for excellent childcare, open to part time options. Money not a an issue. I'll pay for good daycare. Prefer a center rather than out of someone's home.
I greatly appreciate the recommendations. I went on NYS department of family and child services so I have an idea of where most of the centers stand as far as violations, but I want mom opinions. Looking for clean, safe place obviously; nice, nurturing and caring teachers (I know the salary is usually a frustration for most daycare workers so I know this can be hard to find not to mention you can love one classroom and then your child is transitioned to one you don't like as much). I want my kids to really enjoy themselves, be socially and intellectually stimulated and have a lot of fun.
In case it helps, my DD#1 is 2 years old and DD#2 is almost 14 months.

I've heard great things about the tutor time across from Northgate Shopping center, but i don't have first-hand experience.
I looked there for DS, but ended up choosing something close to work, not home.

My sister uses them, as does another poster - Reese1106. They both LOVE it there. I'd recommend my daycare, but your DS is too young. They only take kids 18 months and older.

Let me know which center it is that takes them after 18m. DD#2 is on her way and by the time we are ready she may just be around 18m. I'd appreciate it. DD#1 is obviously old enough.

Re: Commack/Smithtown daycare recommendations
My sister has worked at Best Learning center for a few years now. I have heard nothing but good things about the place from my sister and others who sent their kids there. I'm planning on sending Shane part time when he turns 2 or 3.
They take kids from 6 months till either 4 or 5. The place is close to your parents house.

Re: Commack/Smithtown daycare recommendations
I've also heard good things about BEST. My cousin uses a center that operates out of a former school building in E. Npt, on the Commack border (I think it's Commack SD). It's off Larkfield, just north of Jericho. I can't remember the name though, sorry. She's very happy with them. If you're willing to go east, SBU is now open to non-employees and it's supposed to be amazing. One of the only, if not the only, NAEYC accredited in Suffolk County.
