not kosher...I would absolutely contact the teacher...find out what he has to say...then if need be, contact the principal....how dare he...every kid prob went home worried that they smell poor babies...
When I taught 5th grade, I had to have a discussion about cleanliness, but it was done as a health lesson, and never as making a child feel bad.

maybe its him that smells..what an a$$
He should have just went to the nurse and have them discretely call the parents. It could very well be a medical condition causing something and not poor hygiene. What a turd...

Re: Comments by the teacher. Kosher or Not? (x-post)
Not kosher. I have had kids in many age groups with hygiene issues in terms of cleanliness, hair neatness and bad breath. In order to address this appropriately, I'd have to go to my educational supervisor and ask permission to send notes home that would ask parents' permission to have their kids use deodorant after gym and/or brush their teeth in school. NEVER would I single a child out because it is often not the child's fault. The classrooms in my building are small. Many of the kids DO smell after gym. Many of them DO smell because their parents smoke and it is in their clothing, book bags and skin. Some parents are grateful for us doing it.

I am a middle school teacher and although I would LOVE to say this I wouldnt bc I would be in trouble. He should have talked to the guidance dept to talk to that kid alone.
