For any type of church event (First Eucharist, Baptism, etc) you can never go wrong with a nice sheath dress, heels, and a cardigan/wrap.
Some people go super dressy for events like this but that always confuses me.

It depends on where the party is... I know some people at catering halls who really went all out. Simple and classic is always the best. You'll look back and like how you look, even 25 years down the road.

My3bugs--that Ralph Lauren dress is perfect!

With a sweater as long as you are shorter than the model

The dress I posted was RL. I bought it at Macys (I think) last year but also saw it online at Nordstom (I ordered there first but found it cheaper on another site). I saw the picture on RL's website to post. I loved the dress and got a lot of compliments.

I wore something similar to this - different color (more of a teal) and the fabric wasn't shiny. Same designer.
