completely off teaching topic...but what shoes do you wear when the weather gets warm
I teach in a middle school and we have no ac at all. Even in the middle of winter it gets brutally hot in my room. Now that the weather is getting warmer....looking for nice comfy shoes to wear with capris. I'm always in nice thong shoes (usually Uggs or white mountain) but I'm afraid they they are a bit too dressed down. I do have a pair of flats, but looking for more of an open toe....any suggestions?

thankfully I have AC, but the rest of the school is not, so I do feel the heat when I push into classes, etc.
I won't wear open toe shoes though (mostly b/c running has taken a toll on my toes). I find flats are great for capris

I don't wear open-toed (sandal-type) shoes to work either. I just feel funny about it (I am so strange, I know!). I have lots of flats and wear those, or sometimes I wear peep-toed shoes, but only if they aren't too "open" in the front.

I will wear any open toed shoe when it gets warm.
The kids aren't allowed to wear flip flops so I try to stay away from them unless they are the really dressy kind. And when I was preg I wore them
I like a nice wedge espadrille in the warm weather.

Re: completely off teaching topic...but what shoes do you wear when the weather gets warm
My school doesn't have a/c either, and it does get really hot in the classrooms. I haven't worn open toe shoes or sandals to work before, but this year I think I'm going to. I've seen a lot of other teachers and staff wearing sandals and even flip flops. I wouldn't go as far as wearing flip flops, but I did get a pair of open toe flats that I think will be ok.

I wear flats, open toes, "fancier flip flops (I would not wear Reefs or something--although I have seen teachers) but I do wear more jazzy flops...it is so hot in June all bets are off IMO...I am in an office with no window

i like espadrilles or wedges. I also wear slingback heels. I actually don't like wearing flats because I feel like my feet sweat and swell in them

We have no AC and the classrooms get so hot. I wear "nice" flip flops or open sandals a lot when the weather gets warm.
