Computer for Elementary School

I have a desktop that DD uses but its 8+years old and needs to be replaced. Since she is now in Elementary school and figure she will need one for school soon. Do I get a laptop or desktop? I have my own laptop and she had been using the old desktop its so old and slow that lately she has been using my laptop. They have been having some good sales so I am thinking of buying one over christmas break i just don't know which one to get.

I would probably get whatever is priced better. I don't see much difference, you can get her a laptop with a mouse.

Computer for Elementary School

We just bought a new laptop for our DD. I prefer the laptop more as we can put it anywhere in the house and it just "fits" our lifestyle more. I would also suggest, if your buying a new computer/laptop to get one that has a touch screen. They can be used as a touchscreen or with a mouse and it allows DD to follow along more with the school websites they are using as sometimes they are on the Ipad (touch screen) and other times they are mouse driven.
