Computer History Question
I have a 14 year old cousin, who my aunt is very worried about. She wants to start seeing what websites she is going on.
My cousin is very smart and knows how to delete the history.
Is there any other way to recover what sites she visited without the history?
Thanks! Jennifer

Re: Computer History Question
Tell her to buy the SpectorPro Software. It takes pictures of everything a person has been doing on line. It will show her all the keystrokes made and snapshots of websites people have been on, along with recording Im chats and more. Unfortunately that's how my friend caught her husband cheating on her, but she got EVERYTHING!!!

Re: Computer History Question
If you look in the 'temporary internet files' directory on the computer, you can see scripts, images, etc downloaded from the websites. If you switch to detailed view, there is an 'internet address' menubar that shows what site the image/script/etc was downloaded from.

Re: Computer History Question
It's a folder.
It is usually under C:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\temporary internet files (where %username% is the username you login to the computer with).
'Local Settings' is a hidden folder, so be sure to 'show hidden files and folders' by selecting that option in Windows Explorer. (Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> Show hidden files and folders)
If you have problems, just do a search for the folder, making sure to select 'search hidden files and folders'.

Re: Computer History Question
She could also get the temporary internet files through Internet Explorer
Tools/Internet Options On the General Tab, click "Settings" Click "View Files"
Your cousin could delete these files too.

1) I hope you work in IT 2) Pssst, do you ever check other peoples computers, it sounds like fun. Go over to peoples homes and see what your friends and family have been looking at!

Yes, I work in IT;
Yes, I've helped people 'investigate'. You can find out a lot about people by looking thru their temp files
