condo management company

So we just moved recently to a new condo and the management company is awful! They never return phone calls and when things need to be fixed I have to call tons of times to remind them about it.

It has been a nightmare.

Any advice/experience with this and how to help?

Re: condo management company

Does your condo have a management board? If so, contact the board directly if you don't hear back from the management company. I would let the board know the management company is non-responsive, and I would contact the management company in writing -- so you have proof that you contacted them.

Sorry you are having a difficult time!

send certified letters and note everytime you make calls so you can build a case against them

go into the managments office. sometimes things get done when they see you in person. go in there EVERY day if you have till until its done. threaten to withhold rent (i wouldn't actually do it though)

I advise anyone moving into a condo to do whatever it takes to get on the baord so that they can take part in important decisions.

how do you get on the board? I know that you have to get voted in but I do not know anything about this. We have lived here for about a month and have yet to hear anything from the board or receive anything in the mail.

My DH did just this, in our old complex. He went so far as to become president! It definitely helped in knowing how common fees were being spent and making sure things were getting done.

Definitely find out about the board. Is there a boardroom on the property? Perhaps near a club house and pool? Drop a letter in there.
