Confession Time: I ate Sushi and it was like Eating Pure Gold

Not just once.. but twice.
OMG was it sooooooooooooooooo good.

My doc told me that he had no problem with me eating sushi as long as it was fresh and have a good turn over in the place. He basically said I need to avoid food-borne illness which even before I was pregnant I should be avoiding. So since its good enough for the ladies in Japan, its good enough for me. Moderation of course.

That being said I still avoided it but now I’m in my 3rd Trimester…..

So Saturday I had two pieces of Tuna. I thought I would cry. Like Butter! (God Bless Yuki’s Palette in Westbury – hole in the wall but OH SO GOOD!)
I eat tuna Sushi that sits on top of the rice. I can eat the rolls too, but hey why not live it up if you’re gonna do it?

Last Night after the dr appt I celebrated and went all out.
Went to Neisen’s and got:
Miso Soup
Shumai
Shrimp Tempura
8pc of Tuna Sushi (tuna on top of rice)

OMG HEAVEN!

Bubbles love it too.. kicked up a storm when I was eating the sushi part of the meal.

I am craving sushi but I have another 6 months before I will let myself eat it

Good for you! I don't eat sushi because I just dont like raw fish but I did just eat a bologna sandwich and felt a similar euphoria.

My former boss used to eat sushi all the time while pregnant. She didn't believe in moderation either. Her baby is perfectly fine too.

And yeah, the Japanese don't believe in cutting back either whether they eat sushi here or in Japan. Just as long as it's very fresh, you'll be fine. :D

I ate all kinds of "banned" crap while I was pregnant, drank diet coke like it was going out of style and a few times...I even drank a glass or two of champagne. And I lived to tell the tale...as did my beautiful baby!
