Constantly bloated - gluten or lactose??
Over the past few months I've been noticing that I'm constaly bloated in my stomach only. I work out regularly and I'm not overweight, but my stomach looks like I'm 4 months pregnant. It doesnt usually hurt but it feels very full and tight - like it's going to burst. I'm also noticing that I'm either constipated or have loose stools (it kind of changes every week).
I'm wondering if maybe I have some sort of food allergy that could be causing this but I'm not sure if it would be gluten or dairy. I do have a dairy intollerence and I can't have ice cream or milk (I drink almond milk only now) but I still have cheese and yogurt on occassion and those never bothered me in the past. My dairy intollerence always gave me bad stomach pains until I went to the bathroom. This seems different - its constant bloating with no pains.

Constantly bloated - gluten or lactose??
theres a dr name christine gizoni that helps with IBS/IBD food intolerances. She uses Kinesiology. through it i found i have intolerance to gluten and dairy. a lot of friends have gone to her as well. one who has a similar bloating issues you are describing. She did Kinesiology on her and now she eats a gluten, dairy, corn, and tomato free diet and feels amazing.

I agree- It sounds like IBS. If you suspect a food intolerance the best way to find out for sure is to eliminate it from your diet for a couple of months then reintroduce it into your diet. If you have an intolerance you will likely start to feel better once you eliminate the food. Once you reintroduce the food you may get sick or you symptoms will return.

Re: Constantly bloated - gluten or lactose??
I have IBS also and what helps me the most was a low carb diet. Fresh fruits and veggies didn't bother me but any sort of bread product did it, and I cannot drink milk but can eat cheese and have cream in my coffee. I was tested for celiac and I definitely don't have that. Honestly true gluten allergy is rare and people tend to self diagnose it when it's actually not true.
Cut out any breads and refines sugars and that may help. Everyone with IBS is different and what works for some doesn't work for others but this is what worked best for me.

Constantly bloated - gluten or lactose??
My daughter developed lactose intolerance when she was 20. Her symptoms are she gets bloated, her stomach rumbles and she burps a lot if she eats anything dairy. Sometimes she can't resist some cheese or some ice cream, but she usually has to pay a price for the pleasure.
If those are your symptoms, perhaps cutting out every smidge of dairy for a week might help - not one bite or sip of anything dairy based. If doing so doesn't change things, you don't have lactose intolerance.
Hope you can find the cause so you can eliminate the problem.
