Constipation/gas? - I can't believe we are going through that again
We had a VERY rough morning.
Ethan woke up fine. Then after 1 hour it started. The hysterical screaming on and off all morning.
When it happens he jerked himself all over screaming and crying. I am sure from pain. It's horrible!
We had a mini poop after a couple hours of this. Very thick and almost black. Sorry TMI!
We started meats 1 week ago. Everything was fine. Normal poops every day. Yesterday we started bananas mixed with apples.
I am not sure if it's food related.
I gave him a glycerine supposatory to help out.
He is 10 months. I honestly cannot deal with the colic/gas thing again.

Bananna's caused my son to get constipated. So I don't give it often. I usually given him 2 oz of pear juice mixed with 2 oz of fennel tea once a day and that helps him go to the bathroom along with earths best prunes and oatmeal stage 2 every other day. I think apples can be binding also I heard.
Good luck

DS gets constipated fairly often and it's horrible for us all so I know how you feel. The ped told us no apples and definitely no bananas. I give him watered down prune juice whenever he tries a new food. Weird foods constipate him - oatmeal and barley, as well as rice - and pears. So we don't give him any of those regularly. Every few weeks, I'll give him a little bit of pears to see if he's gotten used to them. The ped thinks he'll outgrow it eventually.
Good luck!

I'm so sorry you are going through this It's so hard to see them in pain.
When we started meats 2 weeks ago (DD was 9 months), she was incredibly irritable, cranky, gassy and when she pooped it exploded from front to back and was very dark too. As soon as I stopped meats, she went back to her old self. We are going to reintroduce in a month. My Ped said her tummy was adjusting and that her BM would be different but no way am i going to torture her, so we'll wait until her system is more developed.
Maybe try stopping the meats and see what happens? HIs body is trying to adjust to the new food and right now its bothering his little tummy.
Apples are also a very binding food as well-DEF avoid them for right now. I'd stick with pears, peaches, apricots, prunes and any kind of fruit juice wil help move things along.
Good luck and i hope he feels better soon

The fennel tea & pear juice worked for us too. I also gave DS chammomile tea with a little sugar everyday, it helped to keep him regular & decrease his gas. Hope he feels better soon!
