Is she getting enough hydration? Do you see her struggleing to push with nothing happening? A nurse told my cousin a trick in which she shared with me. To help things move along. Put vaseline on the end of a Q tip and EVER SO GENTLY insert, just to help lube hte tube and MAYBE make things a tad easier.

My son went thru this - as I introduced new foods - he had constipation issues - until he would finally have an explosion (oh my god to prunes!!).
In some time it kinds of stopped - esp once I started meat mixtures.
Maybe mix some of the prunes into the new foods until her belly is use to them?

DD went through this also...you may also want to try giving some pear juice...or water.

Instead of prunes once in a while when she gets constipated, I would do a lesser amount of prunes more constantly...
We would put a teaspoon in every other bottle for DS or every third bottle and it worked GREAT. It kept him constantly able to go and did not bother his belly.

Re: constipation issues - db
We've had this issue too.
So much so that they have to have a little bit of prunes every morning for breakfast.
I rarely give them bananas, if I do it's just a bit for finger food and it's always countered with something else that will make them go
Prunes, pears, peas is the mantra of my kitchen
