Contract or COD for oil this season?

Just curious what everyone is doing about oil this year. Last year we had a contract for $2.66 (I'm in CT). I have been calling around and the best price, I could get is $2.74 fixed. COD today in CT was $2.54.

I really want to try COD but worried what the $$$$ will be come winter.

We are also in CT and there are very few companies near us that will do contract. We are going to stick to COD. We just got oil today 200 gallons @ $2.52

We are debating this too...we keep going back and forth (we are also in CT).

We are pretty close to full right now, do you know if an oil company will come and top us off or do we have to wait until it gets low?

Most companies I called wanted a 150 gallon minimum for COD.

Yeah, a minumum of 150 gallons or the price is $0.10-$0.20/ gallon more expensive. Chat Icon

ugh that's annoying. i wanted to start the season completely full but i'm certainly not going to spend even more $$$! thanks for the info.

I think we are going to do COD this year and see how it goes (this is our first year in the house)

in the 3 years we have been in our house, we have always done COD & will continue. We just had a brand new heating system put in last year, so we are not worried about a contract. The COD has ALWAYS worked out cheaper for us through the years.
