Contract Question
I was just looking over the contract to purchase our house ( ) and I noticed my first and last names are spelled wrong throughout the contract....can I just cross them out and write in the real spelling?

have your lawyer do it, and then put your initials next to it.

Re: Contract Question
My lawyer is going away tomorrow. So I was going to sign the contracts and drop them off at the seller's office tomorrow with a check. Should we just wait until Monday?

hmmmmm....i don't think i would wait. but, can you call your attorney tomorrow before you drop off the contract, and make him aware that you're going to make the changes first?

that's a good idea. i don't think it would be a problem - after all, it IS your name - but it's always best to consult your attorney....especially when you're talking about changing something in the contract (again, even though its only your name) i'm sure it'll be okay.

Re: Contract Question
I would just leave him the message that your name is spelled incorrectly and that you are correcting it I wouldn't wait until he gets back to give the seller's attorney the contract. You can just cross it out and write the correct spelling. Even though I am not your real estate atty I have done it alot for clients when their name or address was spelt incorrectly.

Re: Contract Question
They spelled my name wrong on all the closing documents and I had to rewrite Adrianna soo many times. My attorney just had me cross it out and then initial it.
