Contracting after cervical checks?
I'm 37w 5d and 3-4cm dilated. I've been having frequent and increasingly painful BH, especially at night. Last night I was checked and came home to fairly painful contractions every 4-6 minutes, which lasted 3-4 hours. I got a little nervous and finally packed my hospital bag (not a bad thing!) thinking we might be heading to the hospital. I didn't want to make a pointless trip to L&D so DH and I went to bed. I slept really bad but my contractions tapered off and they're basically gone this am.
Is this par for the course with cervical checks? I'm really hoping this doesn't happen again tonight!

Re: Contracting after cervical checks?
This sounds like me. I had contractions after all of my internals, and after my last internal (40w) they were a bit more intense, but still irregular.
The next day I woke up with very intense contractions very close together (1-2 mins) and it was no mistaking I was in labor. I was also 3-4cm at the DR the day before. By the time I got to the hospital I was 6cm (and has DS within 4 hours).
Sounds like you are close!!

At the point you are I would plan on anything and think that any contractions would be normal and safe after 37 weeks.
I can't speak from personal experience since my water broke at 37 weeks without me feeling a single contraction....I was having them because I was having weekly NST but never felt any that were showing up on the tests.
I would be ready for anything.
