Contraction Question for BTDT Moms

So I've had tons of contractions for just about my whole third trimester. Now, at 38 1/2 weeks I'm getting a LOT more (yesterday I had nearly 70 in a 12 hour span of time!) and they are stronger. However...though I might need to take a few deep breaths when they come I can still walk and talk. So I'm assuming they're BH. My question... How will I know when they're real since I've had hours where they are 3-5 minutes apart? My doctor keeps saying "you'll know," as do other people I ask, but aren't there some people who never experience super painful contractions? What did your real labor contractions feel like?

Mine got super painful as they progressed. I'd definitely speak to your doc though and other woman. My SIL (I posted in parenting) was just hospitalized at LIJ at 29 wks for contractions (she is having twins) and hers were NOT painful at all.

I didnt really get bad contractions until I got to the hospital and then wow.. they really hurt... all i wanted was and epi....

Not BTDT, but my mom told me that when she was in labor with my sister, she had similar contractions for an entire day, and then that night, they started to get intense. Maybe soon for you!!!
