contraction type pains

yesterday I went out for lunch and stupidly had a corned beef sandwich. ABout 30 min after I had severe contraction like pains going all the way up and all the way down. I didnt know what to think and held on til about 800. I called the dr and he said that 19 weeks is too early to be having premature labor and he believes it is the gallbladder acting up to the food. He said if these pains occur more then 4xs within an hr call him back and go to the hospital. Today I feel much better..not sure exactly what happened. Has anyone ever experienced this before? I guess if anything this proves to watch your food bc I felt great before that episode.

Re: contraction type pains

I had contraction like pains when I was dehyrdated. If you didn't drink enough water, especially with salty corned beef, I can definitely see that happening.

Re: contraction type pains

I had pains like that throughout my pregnancy - the dr said it was from not drinking enough water. I did notice they went away when I kept hydrated better. you are supposed to be drinking a GALLON of water a day - if you arent drinking close to that , it might be that you are dehyrdated. hope you feel better!
