Contractions...need quick answers please

What do contractions generally feel like?

I have had them in the past, but they were very mild. Kind of like slightly painful Braxton Hicks.

Since a little before 11, I have been getting these shooting pains in my back and pressure in my pelvic region. When I went to the dr. on Thursday I was not dilated or anything. I don't know if I am just experiencing back pains or contractions. These shooting pains have been between 5 and 10 minutes apart, but not follwing any strict schedule. When the shooting pain stops, my back still hurts but definately not as bad. The pain last for about a minute, sometimes two.

I would call my mom and ask her but don't want to get her worried or excited if it is nothing.

Sorry so long. All opinions are much apprciated. TIA Chat Icon

Re: Contractions...need quick answers please

to me it felt like unbearable cramps. they would come on strong and then simmer off. everything tightened then would relax. I didn't experience any back labor so I don't know what that's like.

Good Luck!

This sounds like it could be it. I would definitely call your OB and see what they say to do.

Those sound like contractions... aren't you a bit early though? If you can walk them off (meaning they stop coming) it might be false labor but definitely call your OB.

If you can't get comfortable at all during them, its real contractions. If this is it you will definitely know
