Converse sneakers
Are they bad for a 2 year old to wear everyday? I bought DS his first pair of high tops and I but someone mentioned to me that he shouldn't be wearing them everyday - there isn't enough support.
What do you think? Should he just wear them on occassion or is everyday ok?

Re: Converse sneakers
My 2 yo daughter wore sandles and jelly shoes all last summer and she doesnt have a problem..I would think they would have an arch in them if that is what people are refering too. I just bought them for my 4 yo's and I will have to look.

Re: Converse sneakers
My son wore them and then I recently went back to stride rite (where I also got the converse) and the salesperson said they don't offer support. I should get a sneaker with more support. I didn't realize I wish someone would have said something when I bought them.

Re: Converse sneakers
My son is 15 months and wears them. He wears 3 sneakers I rotate. Cons high top, adidas shell tops and new balance 990's
I can see the support issue and this is why I rotate them depending on what he is wearing

My 20 month old has a pair of low tops w. flames on them. He wears them at least 2x a week. He loves them. Calls them his zoom zooms (because of the flames lol). He walks just fine, no feet issues.

Spoke to a friend who is a pediatrician - She is 100% against them. I was so bummed as I had just bought a pair for DS :(

I rotate, too.
My uncle owns a Stride Rite and cringes when he sees DS in Converse. He always tells me how horrible they are for their feet and that he should have more support.

Haha, DS has these and calls them his fire shoes. I've always bought converse for DS and rotated depending on what he's wearing and what we're doing. He has running sneaks (for park, active days, etc), converse, skater type shoes, AF1's, and a couple of others based on the day. Now that it's getting warm we'll do the above and sandals, crocs, flip flops, water shoes too. I think as long as most days when he's being real active that he has good support, you're ok. They are too cute!

Re: Converse sneakers
i personally wouldnt put them on everyday...but that is coming from someone with major foot/leg problems. i try and get DD to wear good shoes most days and she gets to pick whatever shoes other days. i mix it up. if she was going to daycare everyday still she would wear her good for her feet sandals/running shoes there and the not so great for the feet ones on the weekends.
