Convert crib to toddler bed or go straight to full size bed?

DD is 2 1/2 and has a convertible crib that converts from crib to toddler bed to full size bed (we have the rails and conversion kits).

My question is, should we go to the toddler bed or go straight to the full size bed? Did anyone skip the toddler bed part? I'm just wondering if its easier to just convert it once instead of having to convert a 2nd time later on.

Any advice, thoughts, concerns, etc?

Thanks!

It's really easy to convert from a crib to a toddler bed. Just a couple of screws to take the footboard out and put the small piece of wood in its place. There's also no need to buy a new mattress for this conversion.

If you do the toddler bed conversion, it will give you a couple of years to get a mattress, and possibly change the layout of the room (full size bed is much bigger than a crib or daybed).

We just converted to the toddler bed, it's been working out really well for DS.

We skipped the toddler bed and went straight to the full sized bed. DS is a restless sleeper and is all over the place so we felt that the full sized bed was our best option and it really was. It's been great. He has all this space to roll and fling himself at. We bought the double bed rails from BRU and it's perfect.

DS' bed converted to a toddler day bed and we used that for a few months until I was ready for his big boy room.

There is no rush. Unless you want her out of the baby bed.

If you have to buy another bed, I would wait as long as possible. She is only 2.5.

I plan to go right to the full sized bed. I figure that way we can do story time in her bed, and if she is every sick & really miserable I can lay w/ her for a bit instead of her coming in our bed.

I think do the toddler bed. It's a gentler transition IMO.
