convertable car seat- rear facing
How old does the baby have to be to switch to a convertable car seat and still have it face backwards? Ethan is almost 9 months and I dont know if that okay or to wait?

Re: convertable car seat- rear facing
We are going to buy a rear facing convertable today. Ava is 8 months and we will be switching her as of today. She just doesnt fit in her infant carrier anymore.

Re: convertable car seat- rear facing
it's not an age thing, rather a weight thing. check the rating for your convertible and see what it's rated for - for rear facing. as lng as DC falls into that weight category, you're fine!

Re: convertable car seat- rear facing
I switched lucas into a convertible car seat rear facing at 6 months (he was too heavy for me in the infant seat)

Re: convertable car seat- rear facing
Your DC is old enough for a convertible carseat - it just has to be a rear facing one.

Ditto. DS is 4 months and already in the convertible. They have to be rear facing for at least 1 year.

Re: convertable car seat- rear facing
Its more of a weight issue mine was 5lbs so since she was born hahaha
I put her in around 6mo. she'd slump over tho. But she and I got used to it.

Most convertible carseats start at something like 5 lbs so you can technically switch them into the convertible rear facing carseat whenever you want The new recommendation is until 2 years old or until they reach the rear facing weight limit on your specific convertible carseat.
