Converting a garage in to a room question
How many months did it take you to convert your garage into a room if you did this?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Converting a garage in to a room question
It took 2 days to tear down because of all the horrible electric work and peanut insulation the previous owners rigged. I would imagine it certainly shouldn't take even 1 month to put the beams, insulation, sheetrock and electric. Even with sealing, painting, molding etc. I can't see it taking that long. As long as you have the permits in place, I think it all could be done within a week.

Re: Converting a garage in to a room question
Ours was already an illegal apartment when we bought the house, however, we insisted that they take out the kitchen/bathroom in case the bank needed to see it to pass inspection.
DH has made it back into a rec room and it probably took about a week as well, if he was able to do everything uninterrupted. He put down that fake hard wood flooring and also took the garage door down and put in french doors.
He also put just a toilet and a sink and made a small bathroom.
We need to get new siding because underneath, a lot of it was rotted out.
We aren't doing that though until we can afford to do our whole house. You can't see the garage from the road so it's not a big deal in my eyes.
