Cooking for 25 people?
I am thinking of doing a hero and salads for my dd's communion. I was also thinking of doing baked ziti and maybe some other things I can do on Saturday and heat up when I come home from church. I was wondering if anyone has cooked for 25 people and how much ziti I would need to make and any other good suggestions. Thanks!

Re: Cooking for 25 people?
Since the ziti will be a side dish, I would say that each box of pasta should be enough for 6-8 people. So 4 boxes should do it.

order a full try from your locate pizza/ italian resturant....I learned from the past its cheaper to order than to fuss and make it yourself...IMO by the time you buy everything it adds up...

I totally agree. We just had a party with 30 people. By the time I added up how much supplies would be for me to make the ziti, it wasnt that much cheaper than buying a tray. And the way I see it, my free time is worth the extra $$

Re: Cooking for 25 people?
Oh, I just remebered my MIL telling me about a deal that Pizza and Brew has. I think she said it serves 4, so you would need like 4 orders, but it's a big salad, a large pan of chicken (you choose from a couple of options) and a large thing of pasta (again with a few options for $30. Then I think she said for $3 more per order you can add canolies. So for $132 you can serve everyone. I live in Westchester though, do you have Pizza and Brew by you?

This is soooo funny because I was just going to ask anyone if they ever used them!!! Could I ask how much their catered food is? We have their heros all the time and love them and were thinking of getting a hero and salads and was not sure how much their dishes cost to cater. Thanks!

I don't know where you live but DH and I had a pre wedding party and ordered from The great American in necsonset on Smithtown Blvd. You get a 6 ft hero 2 hot trays 1 salad mac. and pot or coleslaw for like 200! I thought it was a great deal and it was good food!
