Cooking while pregnant?

Is anyone else not able to cook?

I cant handle raw meat very well. Just the thought of it makes me want to gag. Im upset though because I havent been eating nutricious meals and I really should start. But I just cant handle the meat for some reason. Anyone else like this at all??

I don't like to handle raw meat anytime (vegeterian) pregnant or not but DH is a meat eater so I have to. I just try to do it quickly and antibacterial everything afterward.

I was the exact same way until about the 10 week mark. I almost got sick in a deli while waiting for some lunch meat. I just started to cook again once my energy came back too. It will subside in time. Hang in there

LOL that was me in the first trimester. I felt bad bc I felt like all I was giving my kids was pasta and grilled cheese. I couldnt stand the site of it, smell of it, thought of it, etc. etc. Hopefully that will pass for you like it did with me. around 11-12 weeks.

I still have a hard time cooking even though my nausea is pretty much gone. I just can't eat something I prepared. Looking at food for too makes me ill.

Don't worry about not cooking. I can't cook that much either. I can't even look at raw meat nevermind touching it. I have fruit, ceral, yogurt, and pasta for dinner a lot of the times. Right now, the most important thing is eating what you can. Don't worry about what you aren't eating just make sure you are eating something.

Re: Cooking while pregnant?

That was me my whole first trimester. I couldn't handle the smell of cooking, my fridge, freezer, couldn't even empty or add things to the dishwasher. H*ll, I couldn't even go into my kitchen, my cabinets smelled so bad to me they made my gag!

I couldn't even go into restaurants, food shopping was quick, and I only went when I wasn't feeling dizzy.

It's much better now though, my sense of smell is still bionic, but at least I can eat out and go into my kitchen without gaggin.

Hang in thereChat Icon and eat and do what you can!

Re: Cooking while pregnant?

YES I couldnt deal with raw red meat until about half way through my 2nd tri. I asked DH to do that part of the meal and he did.

I was able to deal with chicken OK though...and I would cook everything else.

I became big on salads with chicken in them becasue I could make that without help LOL

The deli section! Especially if they cook/prepare ready to eat meals!
