I am forever on the hunt for something cordless and/or battery operated that i can use to keep dips warm at parties. we always set up the food buffet on our dining table, and there is no good way to have a cord where it wouldn't be draped across the floor, which of course is asking for trouble.

I don't really want to use a standard fondue set with a candle/sterno, because drunk friends + fire = uh oh.

I found this gravy warmer that MIGHT be good, but it got mixed reviews... plus it only holds 2 cups which means I would be refilling it all night.

Has anyone ever seen anything? Or have any ideas how I can rig something up (like a small battery pack I can plug the little crock pot we have into?)

What about pushing the table up against a wall? This is generally what I do when I have people over and am serving buffet style.

Or maybe putting some kind of rug over it?

Can't push it against the wall... our kitchen/dining/living room is one big space and the only place to push the table would be up against our kitchen counter, which is where we set up drinks. and it would at least partially block the entrance hallway. i guess we could put a rug, but then i would worry about it slipping on the floor... i guess i'm not very helpful Chat Icon
