Cost of Lamaze classes?
My doctor's wife does Lamaze classes in the office. It's $175 for 5 sessions (1 1/2 hours each session). Is that reasonable?
Also - this is a stupid question..... Are Lamaze and childbirth classes the same thing?  If not, would you recommend one over the other?

my OB's office charges $150 for either a 4 week session or an all day class....

No idea on pricing ...
Here's what I think I know - "Lamaze" is a method but I think it's used more generically to mean childbirth class.

we paid 160 for 4 2 hour classes with a hospital tour/instruction on what goes on during labor. i went through my ob's office. it's actually a nurse on that floor in winthrop so it's nice to be taught by someone that could potentially be my nurse on the big day. she was really funny and very knowledgeable, told me how it is.

the classes in the office cover Breathing techniques, the whole birth process, drugs available, possible complications, a birthing video, infant care...
it helped me since my baby was born and went into NICU- i wasnt stressed in the delivery room when they told me cause she had already explained the possibilities... and the breathing helped me durring my braxton hicks
