Cost of Snow Removal?

I am curious since I have no clue, what would you pay someone for snow removal?

I was hoping the teenage kids across the street from me would offer, no such luck, did it myself. But today made me realize I have no idea what would be a fair amount to pay someone for a smallish sized sidewalk and driveway.

I would think $20-$30. But it seems kids don't come around and offer to shovel to make money anymore! My brother used to really clean up whenever there was a snowstorm!

No, I don't think they do this anymore. Too bad--I would have been happy to pay them.

DH thought $40 sounded better, he thought $20 was too low, that's why I was asking. Thanks for the response!

Re: Cost of Snow Removal?

I placed a craigslist ad asking for someone to shovel my sidewalk and driveway.

Granted I have a small house and driveway so there isn't a lot.

I said I would pay the job $40 bucks and I received TONS of emails from willing people looking for some extra cash.

I may have been able to only pay $30 and had people, but I felt $40 would be fair for an "adult" to do the job. It should only take somebody 1 hour to do my house, maybe two TOPS. So $40/hr really isn't bad.

I just asked for local people in my ad since I didn't want someone travelling far to do such a simple job.

If it were kids, i'd pay $20-30.
