Can anyone show me their costco cakes? How far in advance do I need to order it? Are they good? Do they do disney themes?

Re: Costco cakes for 3rd birthday....
I was in Costco last week and I checked out their cakes. From my quick glance, they don't do "character theme" cakes. They are all generic themes, like b-day, grad etc. Sorry, I don't remember the pre-order timeframe.

Really? I usually get cakes from this bakery but they are expensive and it is for the kids so I didn't want to spend like $100 on the cake. But she REALLY wants the disney theme. Do you know where else to try?

Re: Costco cakes for 3rd birthday....
I like Waldbaum's for their cakes. We did one for my SD's sweet 16 party a few years ago & it was great! They make it any theme you want.
ETA: my DD just turned 3 and "wanted" a certain cake, too! Then, I took her to Costco and showed her the ones there, including the dinosaur one & that's the one she wanted! Given limited choices, she was very happy with the cake & I loved the price & the quality!

Did you try Target? Or a local grocery store? I haven't ordered a cake in almost a year but Target had a great selection last June, including character theme cakes

Re: Costco cakes for 3rd birthday....
The Costco cakes are so cheap and SUPER yummy, so we always buy there. Depending on the occasion, we have ordered an edible cake topper from this woman:
Fun Cake Toppers
We have ordered about 10 from her and have been happy everytime. They are so cheap that you can't go wrong. If you are looking for more to add to a cake, then I have also hit Party City for little figures.

We did one of the generic cakes from Costco and got cake toppers from Michael's and Party City to obtain his Diego theme.

Re: Costco cakes for 3rd birthday....
Stop & Shop does character cakes and it was super tasty for DD's 2nd birthday last year. I believe the cost was close to Costco, maybe a smidge more expensive.

Do you have any idea what they charge?

I think maybe $22-25 for the character cake. Let me see if I can find a pic for ya!
Goofy popped out of the gift in the middle. It's not as big as the sheet cakes from Costco, but it was a double layer, so we cut pretty small pieces for the kids.

I would absolutely recommend Costco for their cakes. You can get fillings in them and they are delicious and CHEAP! Even just get it plan or with just "Happy Birthday" writing and then decorate with figurines yourself.

Re: Costco cakes for 3rd birthday....
What character do you want? Do you want to come to BJs with me and check it out. We could use my card.
We love BJs cakes.
They even do the photo cake. So if you have a pic of DD with her favorite character (assuming it's WDW!!!!!).
We did that last year.

I have some good ones of DD and the characters - that would be really cute!
