Yes it does. It builds you up gradually from mostly walking to running a full 30 minutes. You build your endurance slowly & it's not so hard on your body. And you only have to do it 3 days a week, I think. It's done through intervals... you start with longer periods of walking with shorter periods of running in between & over time the amount of walking decreases & the running increases. Give it a shot!

Agree with what the AP said. I used to it over the summer, and while I still can't run 30 minutes straight, my pace has increased dramatically and I can run 1.5 miles straight so far. It really helped me to learn to run.

honestly, any of the free C25K apps will get you there. they work on the notion of starting to run for only about 60 seconds. week after week, you build on that... you only run three times per week to give yourself a rest day in between.
i used c25k last summer when i decided to start running... now, i'm about 33 days away from my first marathon.
