Could my child have pink eye or an ear infection or bothe?

This afternoon my son was crying that his left ear hurt inside. I had to give him some motrin to dull the pain which worked like a charm. During the evening I noticed him rubbing his left eye (same side as hurting ear) and his eye lids were really red and eye itself droopy and yellow/greenish discharge. He had this up until bedtime (2 hours ago). What could this all be? I'm so hoping he will look and feel normal tomorrow but I'm not so sure. He has never had these symptoms before. Do I take him straight to the ped first thing in them morning?

Pink eye and ear infections could be caused by a cold virus. So yeah. Or it could be allergies. But, i would take him in
