Could my DD's vitamins have caused her bloody stools?
Ok so I'm now starting to wonder if my DD is allergic to dairy afterall. 2 weeks ago she started having bloody stools, I stopped dairy immediately as per her ped. since I EBF and she had been fine since so I thought great we have that problem licked. However I just changed her and noticed a few streaks of blood again. When DD was a week old the ped. told us to start her on Tri-vi-sol which we did and she was fine. When she finished I picked up another bottle but as I now looked at the label today I just realized this 2nd bottle has iron in it. Oops! When she first started having her bloody stools I had inadvertantly stopped giviing her the vitamins, then when I realized I had not given them to her in awhile I started again and now wham she has blood in her stool again. Coincidence or is the iron the culprit?

Not sure if the vitamins could be doing it, but I do know that the ped told us it could take several weeks for the blood to stop.

I would only think the iron is the culprit if it's making her constipated, and she is straining to poop.
