Could my little girl be teething?
Last week she started drooling BIG time, and she keeps gnawing on her fists... the last few days we've had serious problems getting her to take from the bottle - it almost looks like it's painful for her to **** on the bottle. And last night she kept trying to eat/sleep but kept crying every 10 minutes like something was really bothering her. I put my finger to her lips to see if she was really hungry - normally she'll **** on my finger right away but instead, last night she started clamping down on my finger with her gums... is it possible that she might be teething this early? She's 3 months... and if she is, what can I do to help the pain?

Yep, sounds like teething. You could give her something cold to chomp on or some Tylenol if you think its really bothering her. They also make teething tablets but Im not sure on the age.

Re: Could my little girl be teething?
when Talia doesnt want to take the bottle because of the pain I use some baby orajel right before feeding her - that usually helps.

Absolutely, my daughter got two teeth at 4 months old. You can rub baby oragel on her gums and Tylenol if you feel necessary and a teething ring.

Sounds like I'm in for quite a few fussy evenings ahead of me! I'll go pick up the orajel and a teething ring today

she can be teething for quite a while before a tooth breaks through make sure you have baby oragel on hand also try putting a wet rag in the freezer and when she gets like that she can chomp on that

Joseph's been doing the same thing Beth! I think his tooth is coming in on the lower right - I keep feeling this little sharp edge when he nurses but I can't see it yet...

OMG, I bet that's what it is!! Just recently I've noticed that it hurts just a little when she nurses... like you describe - a little sharp edge on the lower side, though I can't see anything. Is he having any trouble feeding?

Re: Could my little girl be teething?
no real change in his feeding...but if he doesn't have something in his mouth at all times he's miserable!! And his poor chin is all chapped from drooling and chomping on his hands!
ETA - Alex and Joseph just like doing things together!!!

Ain't that the truth! Alex doesn't seem to have a problem BFing, but is seriously rejecting the bottle. It's making it VERY hard for mommy to go out We don't have the chapping yet, but I'm sure it will come soon! Are you giving him anything to ease the pain?

Re: Could my little girl be teething?
Actually, now that you mention it...I tried to give him a bottle last night and he didn't really take from it - he kept it in his mouth but didn't REEEally drink it...I thought it was the nipple, but maybe it was discomfort because then I nursed him and he ate just fine...hmmmm....
I'm not giving him anything because he's not really uncomfortable yet...as long as he gets his fingers (or whole hand ) in there he's ok... sometimes though he bites his fingers too hard and then all he!! breaks loose!
