Could someone please post a link to Nintendo DX?

We want to get it for our son's 7th birthday, but I am really confused with all the options on the internet. I just want the original device and a couple of games, unless something comes with it already.

Thank you so much!!!

Re: Could someone please post a link to Nintendo DX?

I just spoke to my 10 year-old because I wasn't sure what the difference was between them, even though we have them all.

The Nintendo DS is the original one. It doesn't take pictures and doesn't have WIFI.

DS

The Nintendo DSi looks the same as the DS but takes pictures and you can download games with WIFI.

DSi

The Nintendo DSi XL is the same thing as the DSi but a little bigger.

DSi XL

Honestly, I would get one of the ones that have a camera. My kids really have a good time making games and picture shows with it.

HTH!!

There's also the 3DS. I have one, and so does DS. It's essentially a DSi, but the top screen is a glasses-free 3D display.

They are all backwards-compatible. The DSi and DSi XL can play DSi games and most DS games. The 3DS can play 3DS games, DSi games, and most DS games.

Unless you're really big on 3D games and displays, I would go for either the DSi or the DSi XL, depending on which size you want.

I disagree with this. A lot of games are coming out only for the 3DS, so if you only have DSi or DSXL, you can't play them.

DSs prefer the 3DS, in 2D mode.

Thank you SOOOOOO much, everyone! I now have a somewhat clear picture of what we need...

I guess we will go with the one that you can download games for... although frankly, those things scare me and he will definitely be limited in time use per day.

My friend also told me that the 3D options makes one dizzy two minutes into using it... Oy!

You can turn it off. My kids play with it in 2D mode.
