Could the Donald's Ego Be Any Bigger?
In an open letter to Martha Stewart obtained by PEOPLE, Donald Trump has come out swinging against the other Apprentice host, saying that her version of the NBC reality show – which was not renewed after suffering low ratings – "never had a chance."
Calls to Stewart, who had recently told Newsweek that her relationship with the mogul was "excellent," were not immediately returned.
Here is the letter in its entirety:
"Dear Martha:
It's about time you started taking responsibility for your failed version of The Apprentice. Your performance was terrible in that the show lacked mood, temperament and just about everything else a show needs for success. I knew it would fail as soon as I first saw it – and your low ratings bore me out.
Between your daughter, with her one word statements, your letter writing and, most importantly, your totally unconvincing demeanor, it never had a chance – much as your daytime show is not exactly setting records.
Despite this, I did nothing but positively promote you. Your only response to your failed show was that, "I thought that I was supposed to fire Donald Trump!" You knew this was not true – NBC would never fire me when The Apprentice was, for a good period of time, the #1 show on television and my recent finale, where I hired Randal, was the #2 show for the week, easily beating the competing finale of Amazing Race and others. Even Mark Burnett said, "Thank God that didn't happen," when asked about firing Donald Trump.
Essentially, you made this firing up just as you made up your sell order of ImClone. The only difference is – that was more obvious. Putting your show on the air was a mistake for everybody – especially NBC.
In any event, my great loyalty to you has gone totally unappreciated.
Sincerely, Donald J. Trump
P.S. Be careful or I will do a syndicated daytime show, perhaps called The Boardroom, and further destroy the meager ratings you already have!"
What an azz.

I didn't realize she blamed the ratings on him. I still don't think he needs to send out a public letter like that. It seemed like more of a discussion of how great his show was than anything else. He always has such an ego when he discusses his show. Even when the ratings started to fall, he acted like the Apprentice was the best show to hit television in years.

Re: Could the Donald's Ego Be Any Bigger?
I actually expected nothing less. I dont think Trump is great but Martha Stewart was definitely advertised as the new apprentice like Donald Trump. Her show turned out to **** because her and her daughter are plain BORING. Aside from that, I saw the show a few times, she was rather nasty in letting some of these innocent contestants go. I dont feel sorry for her, I actually think Trump helped enhance her second chance for her as he describes in his letter and she failed in the show and failed alot of her previous viewers who were not willing to even watch her apprentice. If he wrote this letter to someone innocent like an apprentice viewer, then yes I would think he is an a@@hole.

I'm not sure how authentic this letter is being that is was "obtained" by People, but both of them have enormous egos. Both have tried to blame their shows poor ratings last season on each other. IMO this is a case of kettle blaming the pot.

I can't believe that Trump would have written this. So weird! I'm not sure this is as the above poster puts it "authentic". It seems unprofessional and dangerous for Trump to play out this battle in public.

Seems very public and overly harsh. Her comments were not that rude, callous, and nasty. I think he crossed the line.
