could use some help with ideas! name related!

so DH and i can not decide on a name for the life of us.. we have narrowed it down to 4 that we like but can choose.

i was thinking about it today and would love to incorporate our families into the naming process... so i was thinking of doing a sort of game...

along the lines of.. Sending out ballots to all our immediate family members with the 4 names we;ve narrowed it down to and tell them to send in their vote.

then they have to wait till the baby is born to see who won the vote.

is this stupid?? does anyone have any ideas to either make this idea better or a different idea all together im open for anything.. also if you like the idea of the ballot.. How should i word it??

i think it's a cute idea! but be prepared to potentially get negative opinions about the names you're offering... there is a chance that some people in your family won't end up liking the name you picked. if you're okay with that, go for it!

(i know that in mine and DH's case, we don't want to hear it )

We shared names the first time around and I was sorry that we did. Negative feedback, horrid nicknames they would call the baby if we picked certain names, remonding us of people we hated or would never want our kids to turn out like that had that name.

Not worth the headache so we didn't do it for the second and not doing it for this one either.

Asking for opinions = be ready to hear things like "oh, I don't like any of those, how about XX" or "I went to school with a girl named XX and hated her so don't pick that one" etc..etc...
And if you pick a name your mom likes best and your MIL hates then watch out for the aftermath.
You could try this: call the baby one name for 2 days each. At some point the right name clicks But invite family to help...I personally wouldn't.
