Could you recommend your affordable car/SUV/minivan?

We are getting a new car this year. There's no way we can afford something over $25,000. In fact, we'd like to keep it under $20,000. We both have sedans and are upgrading to a bigger, more kid friendly car. We are looking for something bigger than a sedan, but not crazy big. I'm not a fan of a minivan, but if it's the best, I'll deal.

We are big fans of trunk space! Our families aren't on LI, so we travel a lot with a stroller and luggage.

What do you have that you can recommend we look at? Any that you found were bad? If you have a pic, I'd love it too! I'm a car idiot. TIA!!! Chat Icon

I am not sure the prices right now, but I would try a Kia Mini-Van or a Hyundai.

What about a used car? Maybe you can get something bigger, with a lesser price tag if it's in good condition (1-2 years old).

Good luck! Chat Icon

Ok..so I SWORE I would never get a monivan EVER. Well in Spet. my hubby talked me into it. ALthough I am not styling at all, I LOVE this thing. SO easy with the baby and all the crap (strollers bags etc...)

I hve a Chrysler town and country. Mine is 2 years old though. Got it for 16K. I am sure you could get one new for close to what you want to spend, but not loaded and with leather seats (they even heat up) It had 25K miles on it, which isin't too bad.

I looked at a LOT of vehicles, trucks crossovers etc...but this was the most practicle for us.

GOOD LUCK!
