Coupon Queen's Garage Sale 10/3 Massapequa Park
UPDATE: See post from 9/28. I decided to go with 10/3. Thanks for the input guys!
Coupon Queen's Overstock Sale! Saturday, 10/3 9 am - 4 pm
68 Glengariff Road. 2 blocks South of Sunrise Highway. Heading North on Park Blvd, make a right on Glengariff Rd in Massapequa Park (Deli on corner). Cross streets are Park Blvd and New York Ave. Rain date: 10/10
MANY BRAND NEW ITEMS available at incredibly deep discounts! (name brand razors, shampoo, lotions, games, toothpaste, candles, diapers, detergent, etc..)
I found the deals, waited on the lines, and did the shopping for you...You have to see it to believe it! Stop by before you run your errands - it will save you a trip to the store!
Everything MUST go!
You won't be disappointed...See you Saturday!
We were planning on having a garage sale this weekend, 9/26, but I didn't get around to putting an ad in the pennysaver or Newsday. Do you think it's worth it? I will put on Craigslist and on here... I don't want to schlep all the stuff out if I blew it by not putting the ad in the paper. You think most of it is driveby traffic or do people actually sit with the paper and plot out where they're going? We're in Massapequa Park.
Not sure if it matters, but it's more of a "deep discount" sale than garage sale... My nickname is the "coupon queen" and I have TONS of brand new, health/beauty items that are in packaging for less than 50% off retail... Toothpaste, shampoo, razors, makeup, deodorant, cleaning supplies, candles, air fresheners, dishwasher tablets, diapers... nothing more than $5...
Should I wait til 10/3 or do it 9/27?

Re: garage sale question
We had a garage sale over the summer and we didn't advertise in any newspapers. We had it up on Craig's List and put signs up around the neighborhood. We had a pretty good turn out.

Re: garage sale question
I never advertised for it or put on craigslist.
I put those "stick in the ground" sign at major intersections/roads.
We had a great turn out each time.

Re: garage sale question
We had one a couple years ago and all we did was put signs up at major intersections and up on Craigslist. We had a great turnout.
Next time, we are putting "no early birds" because people showed up an hour before and put pressure on us to sell. Very irritating.
FYI - There is an iphone app that maps garage sales from craigslist. Kinda neat I think!

Re: garage sale question
I would totally do it. My friends and I have done quite a few garage sales over the years and never put it in the paper. Just on Craigslist and putting out signs.

Re: garage sale question
We never put a ad in the pennysaver or yankee trader. I just post on Craigslist a few times and put the signs out. We always have a pretty good turn out.
Good Luck!

Re: garage sale question
Definitely put a bunch of signs out... that's what always gets me! I'll be out with no intention of going to a garage sale and see a sign.. I'll always stop when I see a sign

Re: garage sale question
Signs are a must!! Make sure people can clearly read them. With the times and address.. I also hate the early birds. If it says 9 then its at 9! Not at 8:00 when Iam setting up trying to organized. I think i will make a sign at the end of my driveway. CLOSED------>OPENS AT 9:00Am..!!!
