Love how they say, well not all were because of Covid. Hmmm but everyone died of Covid before the vaccine.

Also the big gathering that infected so many in MA, if I am correct 80% were vaccinated.

I have said this before but denominators matter. Most people at the gathering in Provincetown were vaccinated so numbers are skewed due to this.

I am not sure what healthy or not healthy has to do with breakthrough cases. So far, the two people I know with breakthrough cases are young and healthy. 20s and 30s and physically fit. Minor symptoms like a cold.

Which goes to show you anyone can get it but you will be worse off being unhealthy.

What is the significance if someone is healthy or not? I'll keep repeating the question since Noone wants to answer the question.......a death is a death. An unhealthy person can survive COVID just like a person who is overweight with diabetes (family member) and they can fully recover.

I don’t think anyone has said otherwise. You do have a better chance, with any virus or illness if you are healthy.

To add, many "healthy" people are walking around with undiagnosed underlying issues. Just because a person *thinks* they are healthy doesn't always mean they are free from genetic defects and/or underlying health issues such as diabetes, BP issues, thyroid disease, cancer, etc. You can have any number of health issues and still be walking around feeling fine and healthy..........until you're not.

I always like to refer back to Bob Harper, he's literally the picture of health and has dedicated his life to fitness and yet, he suffered a widow maker heart attack that could've killed him.

"Perfectly healthy people" can get COVID and become very ill and even die and "unhealthy" people can get COVID and recover easily. And vice versa. The FACT is that with COVID, it's a total cr@p shoot. It's an unpredictable virus that behaves so differently from person to person that there is simply NO way to know how your own body will react to the virus no matter how healthy or unhealthy you think you are. That's what makes COVID such an unnerving virus to get sick with and why *most* people have gotten vaccinated.

Then why do people keep asking the stats of healthy vs unhealthy?

By this point, most people know that there are breakthrough infections. No one is saying now that vaccinated people can’t test positive. The Delta variant is highly contagious as shown by this outbreak. What’s encouraging though is that the outbreak can be traced to over 900 cases and only 5 people were hospitalized with no deaths. With roughly 3/4 of the cases in vaccinated individuals, the vaccine seems to be preventing serious illness and death. It might not prevent infection as well as was initially thought, especially with the Delta variant, but the symptoms for most people seem to be more mild and are keeping people out of hospitals.

This is exactly why I posted it. Breakthrough cases are happening but even still they are rare and the vaccinated people typicalLy have less severe Cases than unvaccinated people.

For me, this would make me want to get vaccinated if I wasn’t already vaccinated.

Re: COVID-19 Vaccine Breakthrough Cases: Data from the States

Any data on this is useless. Several states aren’t reporting or tracking cases among vaccinated people or hospitalizations ans deaths. The CDC themselves stopped counting breakthrough infections a while ago. Also, the methodology is haphazard and varies by state if at all. We have no accurate data on cases among vaccinated people. Look it up.

OMG can this even be possible that we agree on something??? lololol. I say the same thing, all.the.time and from experience. I personally had an issue and my child went into ketoacidosis. We both never knew we had these underlying things.

One of my girlfriends just said her daughter's neighbor just died of covid and she thinks she was healthy. You just do NOT know as even as much as you might see that person and they might even think they are healthy, they might not be.

I honestly don't think there are many 100% healthy people (more adults of course) in this world. There is always something, someone has that could cause other issues in their lives.

Exactly. And there is never any true data on this. Only people saying everyone should get it. Why? Who is it truly putting in the hospital and who is dying and why. Sure a handful of "healthy" people were effected but were they truly healthy. Those are questions that media does not share only we are all gonna die or get really ill if we don't get it.

I say this all the time. You don’t know you have an underlying condition until they find it. Sometimes accidentally. Sometimes you feel unwell and then find it then. Unfortunately most of us are walking around. With “something” looming.
