This was my first experience with the Cow Harbor 10K and I was absolutely impressed with how well the event was organized. I had so much fun and plan on doing it again next year.
Personally, I missed my goal of 1 hr 5 minutes but came in at 1 hr 9 minutes and change. James Street was hard but not as bad as I expected. The crowds of supporters were amazing and really when I started hitting the proverbial wall at about mile 5. I even saw a fellow LIF'er out there supporting us. Liza (Lipglossjunky) and her adorable son Cailen!!
Overall I'm happy with my time and am proud to have accomplished this goal...especially at 8 weeks pregnant!
Erica - thank you so much for helping me prepare for this run. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!
I had mixed feelings about my time. When I crossed mile 5 and knew that I would easily be under one hour, I started getting choked up and even hyperventilated a bit (LOL...I had to calm myself down with deep breathing). It was my first step to getting back into running since I had kids 3+ years. But I was hoping that my time would have been under 9 mph (Can I blame getting my period? ), but goal #1 was accomplished!
i had a pretty good day beating my goal time by 40 seconds. but james st really took a lot out of me (note to self- more hill training next year!) so i was haven't as much fun as i wanted. crowd support was awesome though and the weather was perfect. my only complaint was the bag check. they need more trucks or a simpler system- the lines were way too long!
It was such a great day! The weather was so much nicer than last year and the community support was amazing. I shaved off about a minute from last year. I think part of the problem with the baggage is that since it's divided by estimated time numbers, there is always back up- maybe it would be better to do it alphabetically. However, overall it was a great day.
I'll definitely be able to find you then!!! Mismatched socks! I've never done it but I think my BIL did a few years ago. It's really close to where my SIL and BIL live so I'll probably just park there and walk to the race starting point.
