Coxsackie virus?
How long can I expect this to last? Alex developed a fever Saturday night. It peaked Sunday but it seems to be going away. No diarrhea, no vomiting, just a little irritable at night... if your little one had Coxsackie, how long did it last?

Re: Coxsackie virus?
3-5 days. The fever can go away & then come back a day or two later.
Keep her hydrated. She'll also may get tiny blisters in her mouth & not want to eat/drink. Ice pops are a good way of getting fluid in since it numbs the blisters a bit.

Re: Coxsackie virus?
Abby got it in April. She was very clingy and not her self on Saturday. Her fever spiked Sunday night to 103.6 and then slowly went down from there. She vomitted several times for the next few days and was just getting back to her old self the following Sunday. She did not want to eat either so it was hard and she was weak.
It is horrible to see them so sick. Sorry and I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

That is actually where the virus got it's name from
We are having an outbreak in my day care Did your ped confirm it is Coxsackie?

Yup. Not a full-blown case - just a mild fever, and he noticed blisters in the back of her mouth. It started Saturday, and she seems to be doing much better, but I'm not sure when it would be ok to put her back in daycare.

Re: Coxsackie virus?
At my Day Care parents are required to bring a note stating the child is no longer contagious. Coxsackie can last 3 to 5 days. What did your Dr say?

Re: Coxsackie virus?
My niece had it a few months ago, and it lasted for like a week, fever on and off. She had all the sores in her mouth and could only have ice pops, I felt so bad for her. I would keep Alex out of daycare till the Dr says its ok. JMO. I hope she feels better soon!

Re: Coxsackie virus?
I'm thinking this invaded my house as well. We just had fevers pop up yesterday and today.
