CPSE- Switching OT's
DS was suppose to start going to Kidz Therapy near Roosevelt Field mall last week. But something wasn't filed and it has been delayed. Now I am having an issue with the day and time. Is it possible to switch to another place closer to my house? We are looking to move soon but stay near where we are now... How would I do that?

Re: CPSE- Switching OT's
Have you spoken to them about the schedule not working for you?
Are they able to come to your child to provide the service?
I would try to work it out first before switching, because that ultimately leads to filling out more paperwork, and more delays.

We are in a huge game of phone tag now. They say they will call me and they don't Then I call them and have to leave a message.. They have changed the schedule 3 times because it didn't work for them. I think I am out of options.. I will go there tomorrow and see what is going on. Thanks...

Sorry to hear that you are going through this. I use the same agency, but primarily out of Suffolk.
Good luck in getting it all worked out. This stuff is enough to make us nutty, I tell ya!

Re: CPSE- Switching OT's
Yes, you can switch agencies and therapists anytime you wish. However, I would recommend you call other agencies to see if they can find you a therapist that meets your needs before you you drop the original. After you have an agency in mind just call your pupil personnel director and they need to change the IEP to the new agency. (this doesnt' require a meeting, it can be done on a phone). You can also ask your district to send out a blast.
Where do you live ? There aren't that many "OT" gyms around Nassau.

I am in the Wantagh/Levittown area. He will only be going one day a week for 30 minutes..
