"cracks" on a cheesecake?
does anyone know a trick or a way to not end up with cracks on the top of a cheesecake?

bake it in a water bath or place a pan of water on the rack underneath the cheesecake.

My MIL makes the BESt cheesecake and has a great trick for hiding the cracks... she just puts some fruit on top and decorates it all pretty. So if it comes out cracked you can always try that!

definitely the water bath...wrap the bottom of your springform pan with tinfoil and place it on a cookie sheet. Once you place it in the oven, fill the cookie sheet with hot water... make sure you check on it, sometimes you have to refill it during baking....
... also, once the cheesecake is done, turn the oven off then leave the oven door open (but not all the way) for another hour...

My mom makes awesome cheesecake and her trick to no cracks is brushing the top of the cake with egg whites prior to baking.
