Craiglist Job scam!

I applied to for a position on craigslist. The posting was a normal posting which listed out the job responsibilities & requirements needed so I applied because it seemed perfect for me. I am so ****** that I sent out my resume with my name, address, number on it. Can they do anything with the information they have of mine like open up a credit card or anything? I am so worried about them using my info to do something.

Anyway, the next day, I received a response from a "Meredith Valentino, Manager, BP Construction Services" in horrible translated english. I reported them to craiglist as soon as I got the response. Here is a little of what the reply was from the scammers:


I will like to employ you to sometimes arrange the outgoing and incoming materials been used by the company for me. (It is always been arranged via Excel) and also to collect the payment check that is been sent by our partnership. This is check will be in your name. all you will be doing to have it cashed, saved, or wired. I will guide you all through on how to arrange the materials whenever i want you to but most times i will be doing that.


Payment Terms.

However, I will definitely be interested to been paying you the sum of $800/weekly or $30 per hour. I will like to know your interest and so i can be able to forward your name to the company. If you are interested.

As long as they don't have your S.S. #, they can't do anything like that. I've been looking on Craigslist myself for jobs with no luck. Where else have you been looking?

No, they don't have any other info of mine such as bank, ss#.

I've only been looking on craigslist because I am specifically looking for a part time job, 2 days a week and I don't know of any other sites that list part time jobs.

What type of job are you looking for?
There is probably an industry specific job site you can find.
