Crap....How long can I leave lasagna on the stove?
All of a sudden this morning, DH tells me SIL is coming for dinner. last time i saw her I promised her lasagna. So, I have rushed around all morning and afternoon and lasagna is made, in the oven and now I'm like, crap...she is coming at 6. It is technically ready to come out now. If I leave it on the stove, it will be sitting there for three hours...with sausage and chopmeat in it. But then if I put it in the fridge, i'll have to put it back in the oven and then let it sit to set again....
WWYD?
I know...poor planning on my part

take it out and reheat for 25 minutes when she comes... hopefully that wont dry it out. If you used a lot of sauce then it shouldn't dry out.

you mean take out, put in fridge and then reheat? Wont it take longer than 25 minutes if it is cold? Wont it have to sit for a while for it to set?

Take it out and wrap it in a big towel or two to keep the heat in. Then you can reheat it if necessary.

It's too late now of course, because I am sure your SIL already left :), but in the future, when I heat lasagna, I separate it from the dish on the side and pour a little water to the bottom and then put it in the over. Keep it most even after reheating!
