Crashing from TTC- Has anyone ever gotten a false negative?
I'm usually like clockwork. I can tell when I O from EWCM and according to my chart, I should have O'd around the 6th. EWCM looked like it confirmed it.
I'm 3 days late and I've taken 2 $ tree tests and a digital- all negative.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I'm wondering if maybe its just too early to detect any hcg?

If you're already late, it would show up positive.

Yeah, by the time AF is late there is enough hcg in your system for hpt's to pick it up. And unless all the tests were defective it's highly unlikely they are wrong. Is it possible that you ovulated later than you normally do?
ETA: it's possible to get EWCM and not ovulate. Sometimes the body gears up for ovulation and then never actually does.

I guess its possible since I really don't temp or use OPKs. If I O'd later though, when would I even know to test? Its just weird for me to spot around the time I'm supposed to get AF and then nothing.

Dollar trees and digitals aren't as sesitive as a first response. Gl

You really have no way of knowing when to test if you don't know when you O. The time between O and AF is called the luteal phase. This amount of days should always be the same. So even if you O late if it's normally 12 days between O and AF then it will still be 12 days even if you O date was different. Even with OPK's you won't know for sure that you O'd as they only tell you tthat your body is getting ready to O in the next 12-36 hours. It doesn't tell you exactly when and there is always the possibility that you get a positive OPK but don't O at all.
I hope that all makes sense, what my brain wants to say doesn't always come out correctly when I write
If you haven't already I would suggest reading the book taking Charge of Your Fertility, it really helps to explain how your body works and makes everything so much easier.
Good luck!
