crashing- question about high levels of amnio fluid for BDTD moms!

Hi all. . crashing here from the preggo board. I just went for my 36 week ultrasound they said my fluid levels were high and now I have to go back weekly for monitoring. I've heard of a lot of people with low levels but what does having high levels mean? I started to google this but decided that was a BAD idea. .

so did any of you fab moms give birth having had high amnio fluids? did everything turn out okay?

TIA!!!

I had very high levels of fluid. Google is a very bad idea!!! My DS was also very large. At 35 weeks they measured him at 9lbs5oz Chat Icon

I had to go for sonos every 3 days at that point to measure the fluid and my doctor pulled me out of work (I teach in NYC)

She felt by 36 weeks that it was better to take him out. They made me go for a amnio to make sure his lungs were mature enough and I wound up having him at 37 weeks via c-section. He was 10.1lbs.

He had to go in the NICU for 3 days because he swallowed a lot of fluid. He was the biggest baby in there. Chat Icon

Now he is a perfectly healthy 8 month old.

I had a lot of amniotic fluid too.

At 36 weeks it was a 23.5 and by 37 it was up to 25. I had GD. DO NOT GOOGLE.

I ended up w/ a c-section at 38 weeks (went into labor on my own) because she was so high up (she was floating in the fluid) and they couldn't break my water and due to so much fluid, they were worried about a prolapsed cord. DD was PERFECT - 6lbs 10oz

I was told during my c-section that I had an insane amount of amniotic fluid (the nurses in the OR were in shock)

It never caused me any issues, aside from a very large belly Chat Icon

My OB never mentioned it prior to me hearing about it at my c-section

Yep, same story for me!!! I was just like you, I had heard of low levels before but never "high" ones!!! So they monitored me pretty closely and then I think a week before my due date they let me know they didn't want me to go past my due date, so if eviction didn't happen naturally they were going to induce me on my due date. Which is just what happened, and I ended up with a c-section. Baby was 7lbs 8 oz, and perfectly super duper healthy!! Chat Icon

My fluid was high and I got monitored weekly. Everything turned out perfectly fine. My son is a happy healthy little boy.
