Credit check
Has anyone been asked to complete a credit check prior to even being called for an interview?
I received an email today stating I was 1 of 4 but that due to the current state of the economy that I request a free credit score report and then must submit to them.
Is this strange?

It does sound strange to me. I have heard of people who work in the financial industry having to complete credit checks, but not before even completing most of the interview process.

I use to work for a background screening company and companies did credit checks ALL THE TIME on anyone that filled out an application! It was one of the deciding factors BEFORE they were even looked at. HTH
